An Update

Hey there, it’s been a while.

So COVID-19’s been wrecking the whole world, and it’s been especially unforgiving to the movie industry. A good majority of theaters have shut down as a response to the pandemic and naturally, films are being pushed back either later this year or even to the next year. With no new releases there hasn’t been much for me to write about as a “film critic”. I have been watching some new releases through VOD here and there, but I also got caught up in some other work as an emergency video editor for my church, so I haven’t really had the time to write reviews for this site.

Needless to say, it’s been rough these past few months. But I’m still here.

My gig as an editor has lightened a bit so now I have time to continue writing about movies. Despite there being no new theatrical releases, there have been digital releases that were originally meant for theaters but are now available online so I’ll be reviewing those. There won’t be a particular order for the movies I review; some will be newer releases, others will be movies that came out earlier this year. If I’m lucky I’ll even do reviews for theatrical releases this year (I live in California where theaters haven’t really opened back up yet).

The takeaway is: this site ain’t dead yet! No world-ending pandemic is going to stop me from doing what I love and it ain’t going to stop you. Hope you guys have been staying safe out there, and I’ll see you again very soon!
